Happy Birthday Luke

 This guy just turned 17 and is a senior in high school!!  How can that be?  He's an awesome young man and I couldn't be prouder to call him grandson.  Happy birthday.  I love you bunches.

Happy Birthday Tayson

 While we were having fun at California Adventure, Tayson was having fun celebrating his birthday...on his mission...in Phoenix!  We all got to talk with him on the Monday, so there was no birthday facetime from me.  And evidently no pictures!  So I'll throw in my favorite picture of him from this past year.  Happy birthday, sweetheart.  I love that smile!!

California Adventure

 Only one first today--The new Avenger's Campus.

Again, this morning found us gathered in my bedroom, early, swipe swipe, and success.  We have a time for the new Web Slingers.  Only problem is our time is between 8-9.  It's already 7 and we have to wake kids, dress, drive there, and then walk into the park (the trams aren't working because of COVID).  You should have seen us boogey.  We made it a few minutes after 9, but we were OK!! Except for my heart attack!!  

It seems we have on of these from every year we have been here!!  Some day, it would be fun to find them all and compare!

Again, the lack of people acted in our favor, so we were able to ride most everything once, and several of our  favorites 2 or 3 or 4 times!!

The drenching of last year still haunts me, so I opted out and became the photographer!!

but our last time, we braved the line and raced against each other.

Guardians and Incredicoaster

Guardian of the Galaxy is still really scary, but by the third time, I was able to get my hands up for a split second for the picture !!

...while the girls enjoyed each other.

Beach Day

 A bad day at the beach is better than any other day somewhere else!!  I know I said that wrong...but, you get my meaning.  The beach is my happy place.  The place I go to to recharge.  

Today, the waves were pretty big and very rough, so most of the time was spent out of the water and on the sand building forts or castles or whatever it was.  I love that these kids really like each other and get along so well.

And while the boys built in the sand, the girls stayed in the shade, giggling and talking and giggling some more!

Disneyland

 We decided the best way we could celebrate mom's life was to have fun together...at Disneyland!!

We had a couple of firsts this time...

The first time we got into Oga's Cantina in Star Wars land.  The drinks were expensive but cool.  And we got to see Rex be the DJ.

We went on the new Star Wars ride, Rise of the Resistance.  We were up before 7, all gathered in my bedroom, ready to swipe, swipe, swipe to get a virtual ticket.  Success!!  It's more that just a ride, it's a complete experience!  And sooo Cool!!!

The kids got to ride Dumbo!  I know that sounds funny, since the youngest of the kids is 11.  But all these years, Kathy has strategically walked around Dumbo so the kids didn't even know it was there.  The line was always so long.  Well, today it wasn't...so on they went!

The rest of the day was repeats of our favorites.  And in some cases, a couple of times.
