Grandparent's Day
This morning was grandparent's day at Owen's preschool. It was so fun to see his excited face when he saw me. The kids sang a couple of songs, we had refreshments, had our pictures taken, and did this cute project. I have to admit, I got "misty eyed" when I read the poem. It's hard to believe that Owen is my last grandbaby...and that next year he'll be in kindergarten. The time is just going by way too fast...and the kids are growing up way too soon.

Happy Birthday, Kathy
I absolutely love my daughter-in-law; she is such an amazing woman. Before I got to Facetime her today, she had already run 6 miles! 6 MILES!!! And I know, that to her, that was just a quick run! Anyway, happy birthday, Kathy. I'm glad you got to spend your day doing what you love...running with your friends, spending time with your family, dinner with Todd, and shopping. It sounds like a perfect day to me...well, maybe if you take out the six mile run!

Monday's Memory--grandma's piano
I just love this picture of Todd. And I'm so sorry that I didn't take better care of my pictures. Evidentally, time and moisture aren't good for them, and leave spots. Anyway, Todd is probably 18 months here. The piano was always one of his favorite places to play, or should I say pound. And it's one of the first places Amy's kids, especially Carson, heads when they are here.
Grandma needlepointed the piano bench cover. As a fellow needlepointer, I'm impressed with the beautiful work!
It's was actually my grandma Thomas's piano that she played when she was a little girl, one of the few things she brought to her marriage. Mom tells of stories about this piano, like the time the garage caught on fire, and there was grandma saving her precious piano, pushing it out the front door. Mom also remembers many times, when she was a block or so from home, hearing grandma playing while grandpa sang. Some very happy family times happened around this piano.
