My garden was a learning experience this year. Many things went well; beets, onions, cherry tomatoes and potatoes. But, I did learn a few things. 
Cucumbers need a trellis to climb and bush cucumbers are worthless!
The corn was over ripe--tough and not edible. I was waiting for the entire ear to fill out. Next time, watch the tassels. Pick them when they are ripe, even if the ears are not full.
We are in the wrong zone for watermelon to ripen. They appeared to be ripe and certainly had enough time to be ripe, but nope! Not even close!!
The cantaloupe went from not ripe to almost being over ripe in just a few days...keep an eye on them!
