I (heart) the Beach

Amy made good on her promise to herself and made it to the beach almost every week.  And I loved spending the time with them there.

We even made it while Todd was here visiting grandma!

One of our last times this summer, Todd's sister, Becca, and family were down, so we made it a day and had a cook out.

Emma didn't bring clothes to change into, so she wore her PJs!
The kids wanted to go to the spot where the bike trail ended, found out that dogs were aloud, and so we spent a fun afternoon with Cooper.  Tucker just didn't want to get in the car, so he stayed home!!!

Legoland--Day 3

We spent the night in Oceanside, not the Legoland Hotel (that's a once in a lifetime event!),  and we are back for day 3.  Today, we spent our time in the water park.  Very fun, but lots of people.  And the most terrifying hour searching for a missing Owen. Even the security people got involved.  They were just about to send a picture of him up to the front gates when he came walking out of the lazy river.  He wan't lost at all, just kept going around and around!!  Oh my goodness, I think I lost a couple of years off of my life; I can't even imagine what Amy was going through!

Just before we left, and Todd had joined us,
the kids wanted to ride Knights' Tournament one more time.

Our first day here, Emma took a picture with her "Lego Friends".  Today, she got a picture with the real thing.  She was so excited to meet "Emma"!

We were one, soggy mess by the time we left!

Legoland--Day 2

Well, we didn't bring rain...in fact it was pretty warm!  So, we tried to find the rides that would get us wet!

Legoland--Day 1

Well, I think we jinx our vacations and bring rain wherever we go.  I know we are in a bad drought, and I know we really need the rain, but come on, first Lake Tahoe, and now Legoland??!!  We woke up to thunder and lightning and yes, rain!  It cleared though, and after a delicious breakfast, we headed into Legoland to the rides that would later have the longest lines. We got on a couple, and then the rain came, again.  And didn't stop.  They gave us free tickets for another day, and knowing we were coming back next week, we left for home.

Legoland Hotel

All I can say is "EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!!"

Everything is made of legos

To get to the rooms, you had to take the elevator up.  Now, this is like no other elevator I've ever been in. When the doors open, it sings "everything is awesome", and as the doors close, the disco ball starts in and some funky dance music plays.  We had some fun dance sessions going from floor to floor!  We even would get the elevator to ourselves, go up to the 3rd floor, and dance all the way down!

We stayed on the Pirate floor in a junior suite.  And let me say, it was SWEET! (get it? aren't I clever?)  Pirate wallpaper, pirate decorations, pirate curtains and bed spreads, pirate everything!

Our room had a double balcony overlooking the pool.  That night, they showed a movie outside that kids could watch from the pool...or our balcony!

There are activities nonstop for the kids...legos everywhere to build with (even the adults can join in, if they want)

...games for the kids
Emma won the balance game
Wyatt's "you can't make me smile" face.
He lost!

Emma and Owen playing "mimic me"
and Wyatt won the building contest!
And quite often we played, "where is _____ (insert a name here)".

My favorite picture of the entire experience might be this one!
I love that Wyatt will go along with my crazy ideas, and really get into the spirit of the thing!!!
