HOCO

All four of my high schoolers went to homecoming at their respective schools.  Wyatt had a date and the girls went with their "besties".  All said they had a terrific time and they sure looked darling (Can I even say that about a boy?!)

Happy Birthday Kathy

Kathy and Todd were in Jamaica for her 50th birthday, but it looks like she really got a lot of celebrations from co workers and hotel staff.  Back home, she had an awesome sign waiting for her.

Utah Weekend

Sunday...

Amy, the kids and I made a quick trip to Utah for Luke's farewell.  Todd had some church commitments, so he couldn't join us.

He spoke in church and did an amazing job...and then he was set apart.  I'll admit, I shed a few tears in both places.

After church, lots of his family and friends gathered at his house to enjoy some time together and wish him well.

He starts home MTC tomorrow morning for three weeks and then he's off to the Provo MTC for six more weeks of Korean.  I'm so proud of this kid.  He is going to be an amazing missionary.

Monday...Amy has wanted to hike the Kanarra Falls Trail for a long time, we were going right past it on our way home, and we had the time, so we did it!

There were actually two falls, the second one being much harder to get to, so I opted to go only half way and stop at the first falls.  There, I found a nice place to rest and read my book while the others kept going.  Luckily, it was a round trip, so they could pick me up on their way back!

The second half was beautiful with lots of narrows...

and a ladder and boulders to navigate.

But, they said it was well worth the effort...it was beautiful.

Red Zone

Wyatt's main job this year in ASB is heading up the red zone.  That means he, with lots of helpers, stands on a box in front of the student section of football games and leads the cheers.  My, how things have changed from my day!!  Anyway, I went to a game to watch him in action and I wasn't disappointed!  He loves being in the spotlight and in on all the action.

This game happened to be neon night.  And yep, that's Owen's shirt that Wyatt is wearing after he cut off the sleeves!  Without Owen knowing it!!

Cooling Off

I flew home to unusually hot temperatures.  I mean 107 at my house on Sunday!!  There was no school or work on Monday because of Memorial Day, so I joined Amy's family at the pool for some cooling off and a bar-b-que with some of their ward friends. It's nice that these people have become my friends too.

Boating on Utah Lake

One of my favorite things to do while I'm in Provo is to go boating.  I love being out on the water.  The kids had a great time tubbing and I was in heaven just riding along.

Luke's Temple Endowment

I flew back to Utah so I could attend the temple with Luke when he went for the first time.  It was so special.  Almost half the session was his family, and I got to be in the prayer circle with Tayson.  Luke is growing into a very special young man, ready to serve the people of Korea.  I'm so proud of him.

I had never heard of missionary tie swaps, but evidently it's a thing.  Trent got his tie in Korea many years ago and he swapped it with Luke so he could wear it on his mission there.  Funny thing about this tie, the label on the back says it's from the "playboy collection"!!
