Merry Christmas to Me!!!

I have saying for a month or so that I thought it was about time for a new car.  My Durango was 10 years old and had 175,000 miles on it.  I loved my car, but the time was coming.  Then, one evening last week, as I was going to my book group party, it wouldn't start.  I guess now is the time. 

So now I have Brad Davis's car...a Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2014, 28,000 miles.  Pretty sweet!

I love our annual nativity pageant.  It's probably the Christmas activity that I look forward to the  most. Names are put into a hat and picked, so everyone gets a chance to be all of the characters. Except, of course, the donkey/midwife...Kathy gets that one!

It's amazing how we get wisemen and angels out of old sheets and pins.

Monday's Memory--Nutcracker

Today's Monday's Memory is actually on Tuesday, because that's when we all went to see this years edition of the Nutcracker. (Sorry, but somehow, we didn't take any pictures!)
Amy's senior year, and her final year of being in OCDC's  Nutcracker, was the climax of many, many years of ballet.  She got her "dream" roll of the maid in the party scene, lead snow, lead Chinese, candy cane, lead waltz, and the very challenging part of the Dew Drop Fairy.

I remember smiling along with her as she danced along side Rick Gray, who was an amazing Drosselmeyer.  They really had fun.
And I also remember holding my breath as she danced the Dew Drop with AJ.  I have never been more proud of her as she commanded the stage and danced flawlessly.  It  sure was a special moment.

Cinnamon Rolls

One of Kathy's specialties is homemade cinnamon rolls.  She always makes them for general conference and Thanksgiving, but I'm never in Utah to enjoy them.  So, this year, I asked her if she could make some at Christmas.  She did, along with Sophie and Claire's help, and they were delicious.  Thanks Kathy.
