Carson's surgery

Carson had brain surgery this past week. I don't want to go into all of the details. For those who are interested, you can check out Amy's blog. I wanted to talk about something else. Last year, Amy had the opportunity to "retire" from teaching with a sweet deal. I was pretty nervous because of the tight teaching market and felt it would be awfully hard for her to get a job when she was ready to go back to work. Amy and Todd prayed about it and decided that taking the "golden handshake" was the right decision. As it turned out, it was a great decision. Amy could not have been there for Carson if she had been working. With all of the appointments before and the healing time after, not to mention the stress involved, she never would have been able to keep her job. I KNOW that the Lord's hand was in this whole thing, preparing things, arranging things, long before we were even aware anything was wrong. I KNOW that the Lord knows us and loves us. He will be in our lives guiding us if we let him.
