Utah Moments

Other Utah moments that I don't want to forget...

Temple Square...
Pioneer children sang as they walked, and walked, and walked!
Lunch at Carl's Jr.
Before...
...and after!
Hawaiian Ice

And Cooper...a new addition to Amy's family.

Boating--Utah Lake

My trip to Utah this time was because Amy, Todd, and kids were going to be in Provo visiting Todd, Kathy, and kids.  All of my grandkids were going to be together for a couple of days and I didn't just want to see pictures of them...I wanted to be in them!  So, I quickly planned a trip to Utah.
On Monday, we spent the afternoon on the Lake, tubing and just having some fun in the sun.

Some crazy girls!
Owen loved the ride.
So did the girls...
but, this is how they spent most of the time!
Cousin fun at it's best.
Notice the "Y" in the background.
Todd got into the act...
when he wasn't being the captain.

Swim Meet

I was finally able to see the boys swim in a meet.  And boy, was I impressed.  They are doing amazingly well.  I can't get over their commitment.   Usually summer means sleeping in and being lazy, but not for these two.  They are up and in the pool every day from 7-9.  Way to go, guys!  You are awesome!

It was extra fun because I got to see Todd in action as well!

Army of Helaman

Today, on my way to the temple, I was listening to the Janice Kapp Perry song, "Army of Helaman", sung by what sounded like a choir of missionaries from the MTC.  All of a sudden, I saw my grandsons, dressed in white shirts and ties with missionary name plates on their pockets.  And it made me cry.  These young men have been saved for these latter days.  They have been born of goodly parents.  They are being taught and will be prepared to take the gospel to all the world.  And I am so very proud of them.

Crafty Ladies

Emma has been wanting to do a craft with me for a while now, so we spent some time working on a butterfly for her room.  Before she got here, I cut out one, so it would be ready to work on.  She loves crafting, and I'm so glad.  I'm sure there will be many more projects ahead for us.

The finished product!!!

Beach Cookout

One of my favorite things to do is a beach cookout.  I love the smell of a campfire...I love eating corn cooked in ocean water...I love being with family...I love the feeling of sand between my toes...I just love everything about a beach cookout (except the cleanup afterwards!)  Mark and family joined us and boy was it fun.

The kids flew the kite...

...Wyatt helped with the fire...

...and we ate corn!

Happy Birthday, Sophie Bug

For Sophie's birthday, I really wanted to give her a flip doll from Frozen, with Elsa on one side and Anna on the other.  I had seen one at Disneyland several months ago, but they were no where to be found now.

Well, after several trips and lots of looking, I found one!  So that is what Sophie got...and she loved it.  After my Facetime call, she had pancakes and opened presents.  Todd videoed her opening her doll and texted it to me, so I got to see her reaction.  It was pretty cool.  Happy birthday, sweetheart.

Happy Birthday to Me

There was so much that I wanted to get done at home, and for most of it, I needed help to accomplish it.  So, for my birthday present, Amy and Todd gave me a day of "slave labor!!
So, right after some delicious birthday pancakes, we got to work...

The two big jobs were to powerwash the house...

...and trim the tree

Todd also fixed the screen in the back sliding door and cut the 2x4s left over from our remodel into the right size for kindling for a fire.

Meanwhile, Amy and Emma found some time to do what they love to do...

We really pushed so we could do what I love to do..

After a delicious dinner at one of my favorite places, Souplantation...

...we ended the day with a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday" and cake!!!

It was a wonderful day.

Huntington Beach 5K

I really can't believe that I'm into my second year of doing 5K's.   I have continued to train, and so I did well in the race today.  My typical time had been 12:50-13:00 minute miles..Today, my splits were 12:29, 12:29, 12:27, and 12:37, with an average of 12:29!!!  I'm really proud of myself for sticking with this.
