While I was in Hawaii last week, I noticed all of the helicopters flying overhead. They reminded me of my trip with mom in 1987. We took a helicopter ride, getting a bird's eye view of the island. I remember the amazing views of the Waimea Canyon and seeing so many water falls, that the pilot stopped pointing them out. I also remember thinking, as I was climbing aboard, what am I doing? I don't like heights and here I was in a small "bird" with a glass floor. But once we got going, I relaxed and enjoyed the trip immensely.
