When Todd and Amy were in high school, a group from our ward would go to Brian Head every year over spring break. Every year they asked us to join them, and I always declined due to lack of money. Skiing is expensive! Finally, in March of 1993, I gave in and we went, sharing a condo with the Davis family.
Our first year to join the “Brian Head group”, the Davis,
King, Clawson, Wilson, Hilty, Dobson, Mott, and Duffy families. Todd’s hat was a hit, and everyone called out
“Tatanka” as he skied past. Great fun
and beautiful country.
We went again in 1995. We shared a condo with Ann and Jenny. This year there was a huge storm, closing all of the lifts. The kids had a blast playing in the snow. Every year we went up, we got permission to have church in our condo. It was so cool to have all of your closest friends together in one room, watching the young men administer the sacrament. This year, before church, Todd and Johnny put chains on all of the cars so we could get down the mountain. Then, when we navigated our way down, we all had to pull over and have the chains removed so we could head home.
