Bob and Barbara Davis invited mom and I over for dinner tonight, along with one of my friends I visit teach, Joyce Parker. After dinner, we were sitting around the table chatting when Bob asked mom if she had ever seen his Laker championship ring. He got it out of the safe and showed it off. I wish I had gotten a picture of mom's face when she first saw it. Priceless.
It's from the 2000 championship. Bob was president of some group that helped sponser KCAL, who televised the Laker games at the time. After they won the championship, the Lakers contacted KCAL and told them they could have a couple of rings, who did they want them to go to. Bob got one. It's exactly like the players, even with his name embossed on the side.
