Black and White

While I was in Utah, the girls had their annual dance recital.  I love the fact that I've been there to watch every year except one.  Last year's recital was two weeks before Claire's baptism, and I couldn't be there for both, so the baptism won out.

This was the first year that the girls were in the same class, so they both were on the stage at the same time.  That made it very hard on this grandma, having to take my eyes off of one to watch the other!  But they both did great, dancing to Michael Jacksons' Black and White.

Happy Birthday, Todd

Todd celebrated his birthday is style, starting with birthday pancakes and a facetime call from me in the morning, and ending with presents and his favorite, cherry cheescake.  Happy birthday, Todd, my favorite son-in-law!!!

Todd turned 39 today...I can't believe it!!!

Because he is spending so much time in Winnipeg for work, he actually missed his birthday, so I got to celebrate it with them when I was up there this weekend.  The girls helped me make his cake. 

 They actually liked the frosting part the best!

I got to use Kathy's new oven, but for some reason, the cake kinda flopped.  I'm not sure if it was the altitude, a smaller pan, or just me being dumb.

But, it tasted great!

Slumber Party

I'm redoing my bedroom, so all of the furniture is out of it.  The kids came over for me to watch while Amy and Todd went to a concert, so we decided to have a slumber party.

Thank goodness, they were picked up at 11:00  and I got to go to sleep in my own bed.  It could have been a VERY LONG NIGHT!!!

Twins!!!

I have had invisalign braces for the last two years or so, but two of my teeth just would cooperate and go to where they needed to be.  Finally I agreed to braces, for just a month, to complete the process.

Claire turned 9 today...happy birthday, sweetheart.

Because her birthday is the day after Cinco de Mayo, she always gets two celebrations, on with a Mexican flavor, including a pinata...

...and one including birthday pancakes, presents, and of course, a facetime call from me.

Happiness Is...

Mel came from Albuquerque to give me some respite from mom duties, and boy did I need it.  I was able to drive down to Carlsbad, get a hotel right across from the ocean, and do everything that makes me happy!!!
