Happiness Is...

Mel came from Albuquerque to give me some respite from mom duties, and boy did I need it.  I was able to drive down to Carlsbad, get a hotel right across from the ocean, and do everything that makes me happy!!!
Watching some amazing sunsets

 Scrapbooking

Discovering something unique...I'm not sure what it is, but I added my stack of rocks to it!

 Shopping

A trip to the Temple

And of course, lots of time at the beach...
walking, and walking, and walking!

reading,

 and watching the waves

Thank you,

Happy Birthday, Amy

Amy celebrated her 37th birthday today, and as always, she managed to have the celebration last all day, including birthday pancakes, a relaxing pedicure, dinner at one of her favorites, Fuddruckers, and cake and presents.  Happy birthday, Amy

Show Stoppers

Emma and Carson participated in their schools show choir and their performance was tonight.  What a treat to see them singing and dancing and just enjoying themselves so much.
They started the program with baby pictures of all the kids...of course, Emma and Carson were by far the cutest.

Carson had a solo on a Charley Brown song.  He made a great Schroeder!!!

Monday's Memory--Good Friends

Usually, seeing a picture sparks a memory, and I want to write about it.  But, last week, it was the other way around.  I was in a sealing session in the temple, sitting between Barbara Davis and Bonnie Armstrong, two of my oldest, dearest friends. As I sat there, so many memories involving these two women came flooding into my mind, I just had to share some of them.
I remember sitting on the edge of a Jacuzzi, both  Barb and I very pregnant, comparing our bellies, and taking Lamaze classes together.  I remember Bonnie riding up to our house on the back of Tom's motorcycle, one of the first times we met. I remember going over to her house to do crafts together, and serving in the primary presidency for many years together.  I remember being in Barb's relief society presidency and going to visit new sisters.  I remember both of them being in my young women's presidency and how Barb would cry every time we read stories, trying to plan a YW sacrament meeting.
And our friendships just got stronger as our boys became best friends.  They did everything together, supported each other, and loved each other unconditionally.  Each one, in turn, had two best men at their wedding.  Todd even named his two boys after them, Tayson DAVIS and Luke JASON.

When I got home from the temple, I just had to find this picture, one of all of us, taken at JJ's wedding.  I love these people, they are family to me.

Easter Breakfast

We had our Easter breakfast this morning, and it was great.  The weather was fantastic, nice and warm without it being hot.

After a traditional breakfast of hash brown potatoes, ham, and scrambled eggs,
the kids played some baseball...

...while Mark and Kris blew up a HUGH ball!
When Amy, Todd, and kids and Matt Lauren and kids got back from a walk to feed the ducks,
 it was "egg" hunt time...

...with Mark and mom looking on from the top of the hill.

But, if you ask the kids, the best part of the morning was the roll playing game going on...people dressed in all sorts of medieval costumes, battling each other.  The boys couldn't get enough, and Wyatt kept waiting to be asked to join in!
