Happy Birthday,Tayson

The BIG 12!!!  I can't believe it.  And Tayson knows how to stretch out a good thing.
After birthday pancakes, grandma and grandpa Schultz took him and some boy cousins boating for the afternoon.  Because Todd was out of town, he postponed his birthday dinner until Saturday.
Yea for me,..I was up there by then, so got to join them at the Brick Oven.  Tayson really enjoyed his birthday ice cream...

...and  then opening presents.

Monday's Memory--Uncle Mel's Visit

Mel was here this past weekend to visit mom, and we got some good reminiscing in.  He reminded me about the elephant cake mom bought for dad's birthday.  It came from a bakery at Farmer's Market in LA.  It was pink elephants crawling around and up an empty wine bottle.  When they got to the bakery to order the cake, they were supposed to have the bottle.  No bottle...so, mom and Mel went "dumpster diving" and found one.

If you know Mel, you know that he hates to have his picture taken.  That makes this one all the more special.  This is Mel with Todd.  I think he's trying to figure out what to do with him!!!

Sunday School Release

It was with very mixed emotions that I got released from being the gospel doctrine teacher today.  I remember quite vividly first turning the calling down because I didn't know the scriptures well enough to teach all those people.  I remember the fear I felt just before my first lesson.  I went into the bathroom to say a prayer, and all I could do was cry.  I remember reading and studying and praying for three weeks just to prepare one lesson.  And I remember all the love and support I got from everyone in the class.
Six years, nine partners, and countless lessons later, I can honestly say that it has been  the calling that has stretched me the most and helped me to grow amazingly.  And it taught me one very important lesson...with the Lord's help, nothing is impossible.

Boogie Boarding

Amy met up with some of her friends at the beach...and a couple of them wanted to boogie board.
They twisted her arm...and she went...

...and loved it.

Utah Moments

Other Utah moments that I don't want to forget...

Temple Square...
Pioneer children sang as they walked, and walked, and walked!
Lunch at Carl's Jr.
Before...
...and after!
Hawaiian Ice

And Cooper...a new addition to Amy's family.

Boating--Utah Lake

My trip to Utah this time was because Amy, Todd, and kids were going to be in Provo visiting Todd, Kathy, and kids.  All of my grandkids were going to be together for a couple of days and I didn't just want to see pictures of them...I wanted to be in them!  So, I quickly planned a trip to Utah.
On Monday, we spent the afternoon on the Lake, tubing and just having some fun in the sun.

Some crazy girls!
Owen loved the ride.
So did the girls...
but, this is how they spent most of the time!
Cousin fun at it's best.
Notice the "Y" in the background.
Todd got into the act...
when he wasn't being the captain.

Swim Meet

I was finally able to see the boys swim in a meet.  And boy, was I impressed.  They are doing amazingly well.  I can't get over their commitment.   Usually summer means sleeping in and being lazy, but not for these two.  They are up and in the pool every day from 7-9.  Way to go, guys!  You are awesome!

It was extra fun because I got to see Todd in action as well!
